I stitched my sample (the medium size) on heavy white satin so it has an iridescence as the light changes. The second sample (using the 4x4 size) was done with the same thread but on the blue fabric used for the border. I also stitched just the 9 squares in the upper right. In addition to a picture, this Peacock would make a gorgeous center of a quilt. You could stitch him on water soluble stabilizer to keep the designs soft.
