Medieval embroiderers used vibrant, rich colors they could obtain from the earth. Reds, Blues, Greens and Ochres abound. These designs stitch with no jumps except for a few facial features and the outlines on the shields. They are appropriate for quilts, linens and wall hangings, but would also make interesting designs for a tote bag or the pocket of a garment.
