Vintage Halloween Dance

The Queen of the Witches watches over her subjects as they dance the night away safe from the evil specter. These designs can be combined as I've shown below or used individually or in small groupings. They would make great Trick or Treat bags, hangings for your door on Halloween, or accent designs for fun clothing. The picture below was made using the medium size designs and is approx. 25x17. Using fusible applique web, I applied it to various fabrics and cut out tree, sand and rock shapes and ironed them onto my background. The *star burst* was done with silver metallic thread and just a straight stitch on my regular sewing machine. I first drew a circle on the fabric smaller than the witch design and sewed straight out from the circle, hit the back button on my machine to stitch back to the circle and so on all around. I stitched the witch on separate fabric and using the web, applied her as an applique. I used invisible thread and a zig zag stitch to hold done the various pieces of fabric, then added quilt batting and a fabric back and stitched around some of the shapes to add some depth.
