Windows on the World - England
|
|
This second in our Windows on the World series depicts one of England's finest medieval castles. The first fortification built on the grounds of Warwick Castle was erected by Ethelfieda, the daughter of Alfred the Great to protect against the Danes. After the Norman conquest in the 11th century, William the Conqueror appointed Henry de Newburgh as Earl of Warwick.
When I visited England, I spent a day in London and then rented a car and drove in a large circle around the country following the wonderful canals. What struck me was the colors of the countryside. The greens and colors of all the flowers met me at every turn. This is the England I wanted to depict in this series along with an expression of the rich history of this wonderful country. This set is done from a photo taken high on the castle looking down on the lush grounds.
This set coordinates with our other Windows on the World design sets.
The small window is 12x16, the medium is 15x20 and the large is 18x24. You receive full instructions on various ways of putting your window together.
