My Lady's Flowers |
|
These designs are taken from Jane Webb Loudon's acclaimed book, The Ladies' Flower Garden. She was a leading 19th century horticulturist and encouraged Victorian gentlewomen to spend time in their gardens. Her works were done in watercolors and showed extreme detail. I have chosen some flowers that we don't see as often in embroidery. They would make a dramatic statement on clothing and linens, or even in small frames grouped together. I have put the latin name, common name and country of origin below the designs for your information.
PLEASE NOTE: A few of the 4x4 sizes have been modified to fit well within this size hoop. You can see the exact designs in all sizes by clicking on *check sizes* below.
